Please read this review.We have fond memories of visiting the hotel for lunch many times while living in Cape Town... and wanted to relive some of those special, magical moments.Below is a brief list of our experiences, though I could elaborate further if needed.1. We rented two rooms.The condition of the rooms upon our arrival was startling. For example, in the bathroom of the first room, cleanliness had been markedly neglected, evident by a blood-stained plaster in the bathtub.The situation in the second room was no less problematic, with a toilet that refused to flush. Our daughters had to resort to unconventional and imaginative methods to manage a basic necessity.2. ServiceOur experience with the hotel's service was deeply troubling, especially considering my wife's stage 4 cancer condition, which sometimes leads to emergencies.We needed to visit a pharmacy at 7:15 PM but found our car blocked in. No staff could be found despite it still being within the hotel's operating hours. All our attempts to reach someone via emergency contact numbers went unanswered.The lack of response and follow-up highlighted an unacceptable laissez-faire attitude towards fellow human beings.We believe that the establishment should change its focus.We left Simonstown early the next day with a sour taste in our mouths.read more

Very rude lady handling the till.When we arrived we walked straight upstairs looking for a table and she rudely said,... order downstairs and find a table. No people skills whatsoever.After I ordered coke can, I couldn't get a straw and was told that straws are only for slushies.While waiting for the order a foreigner was asked if he'd like to tip the kitchen staff to which he responded yes and she automatically added an unknown amount to he's bill without actually asking how much he'd like to tip.The only place ke4ping this place going is the location because if there was another restaurant in this vicinity they'd probably be out of business with this kind of service and dishonesty.What's amazing is how her tone changed from talking to me (south african) and then to foreigners.She made me feel very unwelcomed with her arrogance.read more

A superb hotel. If you are on foot, this would be my hotel of choice. Golf course, Boulders Beach and the Penguins all... right on your doorstep. Now with the Tuk Tuk service in Simon's Town, this is where I would stay.read more

What a wonderful cosy spot. The first thing I have to mention is the amazing , attentive and friendly staff. Every... single staff member is ready and able to help with any queries you may have. We got a family room which was spacious but also close to the outside dining areas so can get quite busy in the mornings. Unfortunately there's not much dedicated parking but if you do get a spot the car will be safe with the thoroughfare and attentive car guards. No breakfast included option currently but the cafe will deliver your order to your room once you go downstairs to order and pay. Beds were really comfy and we even had a fully equipped kitchen. We were not disturbed during our entire stay and we sustainably reused our towels. Proximity to boulders beach was a plus. Not many food options nearby after hours but they do provide a pizza menu from a restaurant that will deliver for a fee. No loadshedding protection but they do provide rechargeable lamps. We cannot wait to go back , more prepared now that we know the lay of the land.read more

Food for sale in the Cafe had the incorrect price tags on it and I was charged for more money than what was portrayed,... My duvet cover did not close properly and there were rust stains on my bed and pillow covers, No burglar bars on windows on the ground floor, And the staff were noisy and operated loudly within close proximity to bedrooms. Overall very unimpressed.read more

My tasteless chicken bagel was hot on the outside and cold inside. It consisted of shredded chicken with what was... supposed to be sriracha sauce but could just as well have been dog food. There was no table service but we were asked to give a tip.read more

Restaurant:1. Self service, only food delivered to table. BUT expected to pay a suggested 10% or 15% service fee!2.... Burger patty is Halaal, not indicated on menu or infirmed prior to order.3. No sauce on burger.4. "Waiter" or whatever he is suppose to do. Standing in front of the blackboard chalk written menu.5. Same staff member standing and eating in front of guests.6. Fries was ok though.7. No wonder the foreigner vacationers not supporting.read more

I've not stayed here,but today I felt dizzy after walking back from a beach much further than Seaforth, stupidly I... forgot my water,I walked into this hotel and the manageress was extremely helpful ,offered me water and also called me an Uber to take me to my hotel.This was such a kind experience, honestlyread more

The location is absolutely amazing. Went to watch the penguins every morning at 05:00, but did not have a good... experience staying here:The wifi did not work in our room and there was hardly any cell signal either.There is a hotel cat that roams around and helps itself into the hotel’s rooms and onto beds (I’m allergic to cats). I also found a cockroach in the cupboard…We also struggled to find the place, there is no number, sign or name anywhere that says Boulder Beach Hotel. All you can see is the cafe outside with the outdoor tables making it look like a restaurant and not a hotel. Which isn’t a problem at all, just have a sign with the hotel’s name in front as well.Lastly, because of load shedding the cafe’s alarm system beeps (loudly) whenever the power comes back on and this happened to be every night I stayed there. My last night, a fire alarm went off when there was no fire or any danger for over 30 min.*Note: this place is really noisy at nightread more

Great place. Was there only for the night, as we had to be at the day hospital early the next morning. Check in went... smoothly. Room was clean, and equipped with everything you need. Bathroom also nice and clean. And we had a pretty black kitty keeping us company. Would definitely go back for a longer stay.read more

This is THE place to stay at Boulder's Beach to see the penguins. The location is the best just steps away from the... entrance. My kids and I had a delightful stay. Our cottage was in the front facing the ocean. We went to sleep hearing the penguins! The cottage was clean, roomy, and had everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable. Check-in was a breeze. Staff was professional and friendly. The little café/gift shop on-site has delicious food. Free parking on the premises. If the parking lot is full, just ask the hotel staff for a parking pass so you can park in front of the building until a spot opens up. We loved our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. My only complaint is that our travel plans didn't allow for a longer stay. We'll definitely be back!read more

Very nice staff and amazing location, but the word 'hotel' is a stretch. Very basic room, no TV, poor wifi connection.... Its very simple, which is perfect if you are only there to be close to the beach.It rained a lot when I was there, which leaked though the front door and through the roof of the bathroom- I did report this to the staff the next morning at check out- so hopefully they've fixed this by now!read more

Curio shop stocks a variety of goodies from shell based necklaces, earings, key rings, sun caps, T shirts,.....etc...... Has a cafe servo g light meals and a variety of beverages hot and cold. Beautiful ocean viewsread more

I gave rooms 3 stars for cleanliness. There is no TV and a fridge to keep our drinks since the restaurant is non... existence.Service 1 star because the only service you will get is from the house keeping if you go and ask them to do so.Location is beautiful especially if you are interested in penguins.But it's definitely not a hotel nor a guest house.read more

Wasn't that great, disappointing amenities. Kettle never had plug nearby and so had to use it on the floor. We booked... for 3 but yet only had 2 coffee cups. No easy access to charge phones next to the bed. Heater never worked. Other than that it was great😃read more

Ordered a quiche today. What arrived was something resembling soup in raw dough. The chef and staff should be fired. I... cannot believe that the staff weren’t trained to spot it either. Never will I vist this place again. On top of it the prices are ridiculous.read more
